These tumultuous times call for us to come together and support the nonprofits that help our communities thrive. We are reaching out to remind you that your donations enable us to keep fighting behalf of Arizona’s most vulnerable and underrepresented communities, even during a pandemic. Without your support, we wouldn’t be able to:
- Restore Important Funding for Public Schools. The coronavirus has revealed vast disparities in the resources districts have to implement at-home learning. For too long, many schools have been unable to afford any modern technology, forced to use outdated textbooks and to postpone needed repairs. Arizona’s teachers and students desperately need adequate funding.
- Defend Children in Foster Care. Even before the pandemic, many children in Arizona’s foster care system did not receive adequate mental and physical healthcare. Many were not even properly vaccinated, and many more cannot get the specialized care they need. This simply isn’t right – and we are fighting to assure that these most vulnerable children get the care and services they need.
- Work to Force the State to Provide Autistic and Developmentally Disabled Children Access to the Communication Tools They Need. A state agency has illegally denied hundreds of children with severe communication disabilities access to the equipment they desperately need. This is particularly horrible for these children during the COVID-19 pandemic when schools are closed. The Center is acting to protect these children and their families.
- Champion Clean Air for All. A serious respiratory illness like the coronavirus makes the need for clean air even more pressing. Too many Arizonans live in areas with poor air quality, putting them at risk for asthma and other lung diseases, and more likely to experience the most serious symptoms of the coronavirus.
We’re able to continue fighting because of our supporters’ generous donations. Donate to ACLPI to help our attorneys continue their critical work.
